Job Title: IT Training and Communications Lead

Location: Midtown, NYC – hybrid schedule 3-4 days per week

Pay Rate: C2C & 1099 $655 / W2 $580

Contract Duration: 6-month rolling, strong possibility to be converted to full-time employment with the firm

Seeking an IT Training and Communications Lead to support the execution of communication and adoption strategy for the firm’s Information Technology organization. This role is part of a global team driving a firm-wide agenda to enhance user engagement, technology adoption, and awareness. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an ability to simplify complex technical topics for diverse audiences, and a proactive approach to driving change in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Training

  • Lead Dynamic Trainings: Conduct engaging, organization-wide trainings on various software applications and system security, both virtually and in-person.
  • Onboard New Talent: Train new employees on the proper use of hardware and software, setting them up for success from day one.
  • Create Comprehensive Learning Materials: Develop and maintain learner materials, including manuals, FAQs, web pages, and videos that are both informative and user-friendly.
  • Maintain Updated Records: Keep training curriculum and materials current and easily accessible.

Communications

  • Design Engaging Content: Create visually appealing training webpages, newsletters, and communication materials for training curriculums.
  • Craft Targeted Messaging: Develop persona-led messaging tailored to specific audiences, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • Develop Communication Plans: Create effective communication strategies for new product launches impacting end users.
  • Ensure Consistent Branding: Maintain consistent and positive messaging and branding across all company materials.
  • Simplify Technical Processes: Analyze technical processes and communicate them clearly to various user bases.

Engagement

  • Coordinate IT Café Hours: Organize weekly “IT Café” open hours for satellite offices, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Host Engagement Events: Plan and execute events to keep end users informed and engaged.
  • Create Videos: Develop videos for advertisements and training purposes.

Management

  • Evaluate and Improve: Assess the effectiveness of each educational session and communication plan; provide insightful feedback to management and IT teams.
  • Report Progress: Generate executive reports on training and communication progress, effectiveness, and plans.
  • Manage Project Rollouts: Oversee the rollout of new projects as needed, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Support Ad Hoc Requests: Provide support for all other ad hoc learning and communications requests as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years in the technical industry preferred, working as an IT trainer, in a communications role (corporate communications, learning communications), business analyst, marketing, or similar.
  • Global Communication: Comfortable communicating to a global audience using multiple channels and mediums.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong ability to work on a team and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Content Creation: Skilled in writing and simplifying complex information and technical terms, making it relevant, engaging, and valuable.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve problems using judgment and analysis, providing practical, timely, and proactive communications guidance and support.
  • Creative Design: A design background or high aptitude for creativity is highly desired.
  • UI/UX Design: Experience with UI/UX design is a plus.
  • Tools: Skilled in using Canva, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint Designer is a plus.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly enthusiastic and driven to get things done efficiently and effectively.
