Procurement Contract Specialist – Contractor
Location: midtown NYC
Schedule: Hybrid 3 days onsite/ 2 WFH GC or USC only
Rate: Pay rate $50-$55 per hour

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Professional
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to oversee sourcing, contracting, vendor management, and purchasing activities across the organization. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure business needs are met efficiently, competitively, and in accordance with established policies and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, evaluate needs, and identify appropriate procurement strategies.
- Manage supplier and stakeholder relationships throughout the procurement lifecycle, ensuring expectations, deadlines, and business objectives are met.
- Lead procurement activities from initial supplier qualification and market evaluation through negotiations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
- Conduct and manage sourcing initiatives, including competitive bids, RFx processes, strategic sourcing projects, category initiatives, and tactical purchasing.
- Negotiate commercial terms and establish agreements that provide appropriate value, flexibility, service levels, and risk protection.
- Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships while addressing performance issues and identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvement.
- Monitor vendor performance and identify opportunities to improve processes, service delivery, efficiency, and overall business results.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, governance requirements, and risk-management standards.
- Recognize situations requiring specialized expertise and coordinate with appropriate internal subject matter experts when necessary.
- Analyze purchasing and supplier-related information to support decision-making, identify trends, and improve procurement outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure procurement activities are conducted with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience covering the full Source-to-Pay lifecycle.
- Minimum 3 years of contract negotiation experience.
- Working knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering various commercial agreements, including:
- Software and licensing agreements
- Equipment lease agreements
- Consulting and professional services agreements
- Subscription agreements
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Strong tactical procurement, purchasing, and logistics management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and executives at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Objective-driven approach with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make business-focused decisions.
